Have you ever heard about the San Jose Del Cabo Art Walk?
The chances are, you haven’t, but don’t worry, I’m here to tell you about it.
Most tourists come to Los Cabos because of its stunning waterfront resorts, Baja Med cuisine (fish tacos, anyone?), and outdoor activities. But few people know that San Jose Del Cabo is also home to many galleries where you can see incredible art pieces from all over the world, from contemporary Mexican art to colorful African sculptures and paintings.
Located at the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula, Los Cabos (a collective name of Cabo San Lucas and its sister city, San Jose del Cabo) is a gateway to adventure, with exciting activities like whale watching, zip-lining, hiking, and off-roading.
Not many people think about art when they hear about Cabo. That’s where San Jose Del Cabo comes in. San Jose Del Cabo is a smaller cousin of Cabo San Lucas that’s known as the cultural mecca of the region thanks to many art galleries and colonial feel with cobblestone streets and colorful buildings.
The San José del Cabo Art Walk is a weekly event that takes place in the Gallery District every Thursday from November to June, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
I’ve done it several times, and speaking from my experience, it’s absolutely worth a stop, whether you want to take a break from the Cabo party scene or explore the more autentic side of this part of Mexico.
