If you are craving an escape from snow and cold temps, February is a perfect time to pack your bag and head to sunny Cabo San Lucas. February is the middle of the high season in Cabo San Lucas, with perfect weather and plenty of outdoor activities. Evenings usually cool down to the 60s, perfect for sailing along the Sea of Cortez on a yacht or watching a colorful Baja sunset from a rooftop with a margarita or mezcal in your hand.

February is the second coldest month in Cabo after January, but it’s still relatively mild, so you can enjoy the outdoors and the sunny days.

• Average high: around 73–77°F (23–25°C) during the day. It’s warm and comfortable for beach time and exploring. 

• Average low temperature: around 60 F (16 C) at night, which is cool enough for a light jacket after sunset.

If there’s one reason you should visit Cabo in February, it’s the whales. February marks the peak of whale-watching season, with gray and humpback whales coming to Southern Baja to give birth and teach their calves to breach. February in Cabo isn’t just about getting outside; it also has some fun events. If you happen to be in the area at the end of the month, don’t miss out on Cabo Carnival, which usually takes place from late February through early March. Packing for Cabo in February is pretty straightforward. You need to some light clothing for day time and a couple of layers for evenings, when temperatures cool off. 

• Shorts – Shorts are a staple that you will need in Cabo regardless of the time of the year. I recommend bringing denim shorts for everyday wear, hiking shorts, beach shorts, and sports shorts that you can wear to the gym. 
• Sandals – Sandals are the best type of footwear in Cabo because you can wear them in many places and combine them with various outfits. 
• T-shirt – Pack a few t-shirts that you can combine with shorts, pants, and other bottoms.  
• Swimsuits – Bring a couple of swimsuits for beach days and pool time.
• Layers – Pack a couple of layers, including a light jacket, if you plan to hike or spend time outside, especially in the evenings. It can be a bit chilly and sometimes windy, especially at higher elevations that are more exposed.
