Renting a car in Loreto

I recommend renting a car in Loreto because many scenic areas and beaches near Loreto are not accessible by walking or public transportation. Having a car will give you the freedom to plan your trips however you like.

Do we need a car in Loreto?

You don’t need a car in Loreto, if you plan to fly in and spend your time in town and take tours of Loreto Bay National, Mission San Javier or book a guided ATV ride.  However, if you want more freedom and explore nearby places like Mulege, and Bahia Concepcion which has some of the best beaches in Mexico, you will need a vehicle.

Where to rent a car in Loreto?

The best place to rent a car is Loreto International Airport (LTO). You can look for car rentals on DiscoverCars, and find plenty of options that fit your travel style and budget.

DiscoverCars is my favorite platform for renting cars in Mexico which has some of the best prices on many types of vehicles. You can also add full Mexican insurance for your car rental for less than $10 per day when booking your car with DiscoverCars.
