Although San Felipe is only 118 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, it’s still somewhat off the beaten path for an average traveler.

If you are considering a trip to San Felipe, but have questions about this up-and-coming destination, this article is for you. I visited San Felipe several times, and will share everything about this town with you.

San Felipe is known for the annual Baja 250 race, a popular off-roading event. Many people come to San Felipe from the United States and Mexico to partake in off-road racing and ride sport cars, ATV’s and buggies in the desert.

1. Wander around the cacti in Valle De Los Gigantes

There are no marked hikes in the area, but you can still see the trail meandering between the tall cacti.
